AS/NZS 4600

Design of Cold-Formed Steel Members
to AS/NZS 4600:2005

A new steel member design option is now available for Microstran to check cold-formed steel sections to AS/NZS 4600:2005.

The section types covered by the new option include plain angles and channels, lipped and return lipped channels, plain and lipped zeds. The new option is also applicable to some proprietary sections - 'Exacta' sections from Stramit, and DHS sections produced by Dimond and Fielder. All channel sections may also be used in a back-to-back configuration. The standard section library has been modified to include these section types.

NOTE
Microstran users who have the AS 4100 / NZS 3404 steel design option (Limsteel) have been able to check Duragal and LSB members to AS/NZS 4600:1996 using the limited functionality of design modules provided by the manufacturer. Apart from being applicable to a wide range of section types, the new module performs checks to the current version of the design code.
